Common questions
How do I delete my account?
Open the app, go to Settings → Danger zone → Delete
account, type DELETE
to confirm, then submit. If you signed up with email + password, you'll re-enter
your password. Google sign-in users skip this step.
This securely overwrites and removes your encrypted broker keys, cancels any active subscription, and erases your trade history. Open positions on your broker stay open — manage them in your broker dashboard.
How do I add an Alpaca API key?
Generate keys in your Alpaca dashboard (Paper or Live), then paste them into Thesis under Settings → Connect Alpaca. Full step-by-step walkthrough at docs/connect-alpaca.
How do I cancel my subscription?
From the app, go to Settings → Billing, which opens the Stripe customer portal. Cancel anytime — you'll keep access through the end of the current billing period.
Paper vs. live mode — what changes?
See docs/paper-vs-live for the full breakdown. Short version: same pattern detection, same AI, same sizing math. Paper uses simulated funds and modeled crypto fees; live uses real money and broker-reported fees.
Are my broker keys safe?
Yes. Keys are encrypted at rest with AES-256-GCM envelope encryption, master key in Azure Key Vault. Plaintext keys exist only in volatile memory during order placement and are never logged. We never request withdrawal permissions and don't use them.
Why did a trade get skipped?
Every pattern detection is recorded with a decision — taken or skipped — and the reason. View them in the app under Pattern Feed → Skipped tab. Common reasons: AI confidence below threshold, conflicting news, max positions reached, market closed.
